Singapore Trip Highlights

January 28 - February 6, 2020

Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.  -10 deg. C.

A ten foot Kodiak Bear, on display in our Anchorage hotel.

 Taking off out of Anchorage.

 En route to Anadyr, Russia

Anadyr, Russia.  -27 deg. C.

En route to Petropovlovsk, Russia.

An active volcano on Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula.

Another beautiful mountain near Petro airport.

View from my hotel room in Sendai, Japan.  The large white object in the distance is the Sendai Daikannon Statue.  This Buddhist monument is 330 feet high and was once the tallest statue in the world.

East Asians take their toilets seriously.  It slices, it dices, it does your taxes.

I used a translation app to read the potty’s control panel.  All you need to do is look at the pictures.

We flew by Mt. Fuji and could see it in the distance.  The light due to the angle of the sun didn’t allow for a good picture, so here it is on the map.

Naha, Okinawa.

Beautiful flowers on the grounds of our hotel in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Swimming in the South China Sea.

At the Night Market in historic Hoi Na, Vietnam.

Lanterns for sale.  A. Lot. Of. Lanterns.

Dinner options at the Night Market.

Mountains of central Vietnam.

Mekong River delta, Vietnam.

Reminders of the Chinese New Year are everywhere in Singapore.

An acrobat troupe dressed as lions.  A very Chinese New Year event.

The Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino.  A modern Singapore landmark.

A park sculpture garden, consisting of large, mirrored spheres.

A beautiful old church in downtown Singapore.  The buildings have been repurposed as a high-end shopping and dining area.  I do not know if the church meets at another facility.  There were many more active churches I saw while walking around town.
