In The Emirati Desert

East of Dubai, U. A. E.

Almost to Oman

The sand turns from beige and white

To a reddish hue

So we venture out into the dunes

On a tipsy-turvy roller coaster ride

We find others who share our adventure

In this soft and granular world

Standing in the cool evening air

Makes me feel playful

Like summer snow

Look, the sun is setting

Let us prepare

And act like super heroes

And remember loved ones far away

When this light is gone

We set the night ablaze

 And make some new friends

Of a different feather

A truly good night
